Jaffna today

Culture and dignity is getting damaged in Jaffna nowadays. Sexual activities and political movements are the most uncontrollable issues in Jaffna today. It is not fare blaming the majority people for all the issues happening here. We are also playing a big role in all these corruptions. And more over the senior Tamil citizens leads the youths towards a spoiled life instead of a prosperous life.

I would like to take an event as an example to illustrate some of the issues that I am concerning.

There was a basketball tournament held in the last week in Jaffna. The finals of that tournament held last Saturday (20^th of November, 2010) and the rest of the matches had held in the previous dates. There were 4 matches on that final day. And all of them started at 5.00 pm. There were two matches for girls and two for men. Apart from this there was an additional “Show Game” (Don’t know what was the reason of that game all in the middle of that tournament where girls are requested to stay there for the presentation) as well. And girls’ teams were forced to stay till latte night.

Many girls went home after 10.30 and most of their brothers or parents were not there and none of them have their own vehicles to get back home and none of the Jaffna Roads have enough street lights. More over none of the Jaffna roads are covering standard conditions.

 So how can these girls get back to their residence? Is this common here nowadays? Or will they travel in groups? Or will they depend on their boyfriends? Or will they seek help from anonymous boys?

Many leading girls schools have participated in that tournament and most of their coaches are unmarried and between the ages of 20 to 25. They were seated with the team players (teen girls) in a single bench throughout the match where everybody’s’ attention was towards the match. And these coachers used to spent more time in practices and there will be more chance to have the team players without even monitored by any of their school teachers.

Let me raise some question?

What parents thinks of these children? Are they really caring their children or are they just wanted their female child to run away with any street boy?

What these schools and teachers are caring? Are they working as brokers? Or do they really care about their students and their sports? How can be a 20 year old basket ball player who represented a team which can’t even give a good fight in the National level schools basket ball tournament? Can you expect a 20 year (Jaffna sports related) boy to have a better maturity and self control in sex and emotions? Won’t it lead the teen girls fell in false attractions? And won’t it be an opportunity to mislead these young children?

And how can you expect students to care on their sports and studies with these provided sexual chances? These conditions are simply producing student pregnant.

(More over the referees were also with the age of 20+. Is it a healthy situation for sports in Jaffna? Isn’t there enough elders to take care of these things?)

I have received an unconfirmed information which says that average of 45 school girls are approaching the hospital for abortion and average of 15 girls from leading Jaffna town schools. And I am pretty sure that none of the politicians are having sex with these school girls and even if they do such things they knew all the tactics to do it safely which will not lead the girls to abortion.

Our senior citizens are the only reason for all these issues. But is there any newspapers or televisions take this issue to anywhere? They just are ready to blame any sort of political parties.

யாழ் மண்ணின் மைந்தர்களை அவமதித்தது "பலம்"

நல்லைக்கந்தனின் உற்சவத்தை முன்னிட்டு யாழ்ப்பாணம் பிரபல கல்லூரி மைதானத்தில் “பலம்” நடாத்திய இசை நிகழ்ச்சி கடந்த இரு தினங்களாக மேடையேற்றப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.இன்றைய தினமும்(05-09-2010) அந்த நிகழ்வு இடம்பெற இருக்கின்ற போதிலும் இன்று தென்னிந்திய கர்நாடக சங்கீத மேதைகளில் ஒருவர் கலந்து கொள்ளவுள்ளார். கடந்த இரு தினங்களும் உள்ளூர் கலைஞர்களின் கலைப்படைப்பு இடம்பெற்றது.

முதல் நாள் நிகழ்வுகளுக்கு ஓரளவு ஜனக்கூட்டம் வந்திருந்த போதிலும் இரண்டாம் நாள் நேற்று அவ்வளவாக ரசிகர்கள் ஆரம்பத்தில் இருக்கவில்லை. மாலை 6  மணிக்கு ஆரம்பமாக வேண்டிய நிகழ்ச்சி 8 மணிக்கு ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்டது.

நேற்று யாழ்மண்ணின் புகழ்பூத்த மைந்தர்களின் கலைப்படைப்புகள் அரங்கேறியிருந்தன. ஆனால் தொழில் ரீதியாக அறிவிப்பாளர்களாக(பின்னதாக அவர்கள் தொழில் ரீதியான அறிவிப்பாளர்கள் அல்ல என தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டனர்)கடமையாற்றும் பலத்தின் அறிவிப்பாளர்கள் தரக்குறைவான முறையிலே அறிவிப்புகளை நிகழ்த்தியது பலரது ஆச்சரியத்தையும் தூண்டிவிட்டது. தவறான சொற்கோவைகளுடன் கருத்துக்களற்ற வசனங்களை அறிவித்தார்கள். மேலும் சொன்ன வசனங்களை அந்த வசனத்தின் சொற்களின் ஒழுங்குகளை மாற்றி மாற்றி மீண்டும் மீண்டும் கருத்துக்களற்ற ஒலியை ஒலிவாங்கிமூலம் எழுப்பினார்கள்.

தொடர்ச்சியாக கதைக்க வேண்டும் எண்ற காரணத்திற்காக உபாதை ஏற்பட்டவர்கள் போல் தமிழை உச்சரித்தார்கள்.

சரி அதை தான் விடுவம். ஆனால் அவர்கள் இத்துடன் நிறுத்தவில்லை. நேற்று யாழ்மண்ணின் புகழ்பூத்த இளம் பாடகி ஒருவர் முதலாவதாக அரங்கில் அமர்ந்ததும் அறிவிப்பாளர்கள் தமது அறிமுகத்தில் “உங்களுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ள நேரம் 30 நிமிடங்கள்” என பட்டிமண்றில் நேரக்கட்டுப்பாடு வழங்கும் நடுவர் போல் நடந்துகொண்டார்கள்.சரியாக 30 நிமிடத்தில் கலைஞர் அவர்கள் முடித்திருந்தார்.அதற்கு ”உங்களுக்கு ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட நேரத்தில் முடித்ததற்கு நண்றிகள்” என்று கூறினர்.

அடுத்ததாக பல உலக நாடுகளில் வயலின் கச்சேரி நடாத்திய இசை வல்லுநர் ஒருவரின் வயலின் கச்சேரி. அவரிற்கும் அதே பாணியில் “உங்களுக்கு ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட நேரத்தில் நீங்கள் முடித்துவிட வேண்டும்” என அறிவித்தார்கள். அவரும் நேரத்திற்குள்ளே முடித்து இவர்களின் பாராட்டை பெற்றார்.

அடுத்த்தாக யாழ் மண்ணின் புகழ்பூத்த பண்ணிசை மன்னனின் பண்ணிசை நிகழ்வு ஆரம்பமாகிய போது அறிவிப்பாளர் மீண்டும் “உங்களுக்கான எமது நேரம் ஒரு மணித்தியாலம்.இப்பொழுது சரியாக 9.25 நீங்கள் சரியாக 10.25 ற்கு முடித்து விட வேண்டும்” என மீண்டும் ஒரு தரம்குறந்த ரீதியில் கட்டளை விதித்தனர்.

நேரடி (live programe) நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் இவ்வாறு அறிவிப்பது பொருத்தமற்றது என்பதை இவர்கள் யாரும் அறிந்திருக்கவில்லை.

மேலும் கர்நாடக சங்கீத இசைக்கு தேவையில்லாத வகையில் அதன் தராதரத்தை குறைக்கும் வகையில் வர்ண ஒளி விளக்குகளையும் பொருத்தி பாடகர்களின் கவனத்தை சிதைத்ததுடன் அவர்கள் எழுதிவந்த பாடல்களை பார்த்து படிக்க வசதிகள் செய்து கொடுக்க தவறினர்.அவர்கள் மேடையில் இருந்த்து வெளிச்சம் கேட்ட போதும் அது 30 நிமிடங்களின் பின்னரே வழங்கப்பட்ட்து.

மேடையில் முதன்மை ஒலியெழுப்பி தவறான முறையில் அமைக்கப்பெற்றிருந்தது பாடுவதற்கு கடினமாக இருக்கிறது எண்று பலமுறை கூறியும் ஒழுங்கமைப்பாளர் யாரும் அதை பொருட்படுத்தாதையடுத்து மேடையில் இருந்தவாறே ஒலிவாங்கியில் ”மேடையில் இருக்கும் இந்த ஒலியெழுப்பியின்  சத்தம் அதிகமாக இருப்பதால் சரியாக பாட முடியவில்லை” என சொல்லப்பட ஒலிவாங்கி நிறுத்தப்பட்டது.

மேலும் நிகழ்ச்சியின் குளறுபடிகள் அதிகரித்து சென்றது.அனுசரணையாளர்கள் கூட 10 மணிக்கு தமது கொட்டில்களை மூடி வெளியேறினர்.மக்களும் வெளியேறினர்.ஆனால் கலைஞர்களின் மேலுமொரு நிகழ்வு மீதமிருக்க மைதானத்தில் 10 பேர் இருந்தனர்.

இப்படியாக இசைக்கு எந்தவிதத்திலும் மரியாதை கொடுக்கப்படாமல் நிகழ்வுகளை நடாத்தி இருந்தனர். உள்ளூர் கலைஞர்கள் என்றால் இழிவானவர்கள் என்ற எண்ணம் அறிவிப்பாளர் மனதில் இழையோடியது தெளிவாக தெரிந்தது.ஆனால் இன்று தென்னிந்திய கலைஞர்அவர்களிற்கு ராஜ மரியாதை கொடுப்பார்கள்.

அவர்களது மேடையில் சம்பந்தமற்ற விதத்தில் மாபெரும் தர்மச்சக்கரங்கள் 2 காணப்படுகிறது. அதற்கும் அர்த்தம் புரியவில்லை.

ஏதோ நாங்களும் நிகழ்ச்சி செய்ய வெண்டும் என நிகழச்சி ஒன்றை ஏற்பாடு செய்து உல்லாசமாக நேரத்தை கழிக்கின்றனர் பலம் குழுவினர்.இதில் இழிவாக்கப்படுவது கலையை பொக்கிஷமாக காத்து வழிபட்டு ஆராதிக்கும் யாழ் கலைஞர்களே…..

Shewag disappointed and Randive Apologizes

There are lot of arguments and writings in the cricket arena regarding the No-ball incident in the 3^rd match of the Micromax-cup tri-angular series India and SriLanka in Dambulla on 16^th of August, 2010. I read many writings and argued a lot with my friends and the blind Indian Fans (To be frank I always hate the SriLankan born and living Indian fans). By reading many articles, I got some stats and points, which I was not aware and eventually I my mind changed into a state to ask questions such as who made the mistake? Who played unfair? And who claimed it? And who else are the victim? And why did they get the punishment? Who are the real geniuses?

At the very start, on the moment I heard the news, I was really disappointed and, as a SriLankan cricket fan, I felt sorry for what SriLankan Cricketer has done. But when I come through the articles and arguments, I felt that there is nothing to feel for other than SL has lost that match with a bonus point. Before we go and comment on things we should first feel the situation as one of the infield player or the particular player and get a view about what might have been in their minds. Then only we are eligible to think and comment on what really happened. Simply, we can't measure the speed of the ball or the rise of the ball after it pitched up by barely watching the match in the TV. So we need to feel the plight at the middle and then only we can talk on those actions.

In my point of view:

India was 5 runs short to grab the victory and Shewag was 1 run short of his 13^th ODI hundred. And India had another 36 balls left to get that win with the bonus point. And India had only lost 4 of their wickets and 6 to come. So it was an absolute situation where everything has defined. And there were no trouble to shewag to get his hundred as well. And Randive has given the ball for formality. And When Randive starts his over, his intention was (preferably as a genius) not to give that 5 runs in this over. And shewag was intending to get his hundred. And the first ball cheated the batsman and also the keeper and it ran for four runs and the scores went equal and Randive disappointed and given all his hopes. And everybody knew that another 5 balls to go and shewag on strike and one run for the win and for the 100. And shewag was at 99 of 97. So there is no point to think that shewag needs some more balls to get a single. And Randive balls the next ball and it wasn't a harder one. But shewag defended. Randive balled the next ball, no change, and same ball. But shewag drives it, but again Dilshan gets it by diving. But shewag and Dhoni might have ran for it and finish everything off. But they were cool.

And this is the point where we have to think of what would have gone in the minds of those players.

Shewag: he is 99 in 98. He was waiting for 2 deliveries to get a single. It wasn't that much hard to shewag to get a single at that stage. He was waiting to get his hundred in his own style/passion. The passion is to reach the hundred by hitting a six. But another 3 balls left. He is reading the ball to get a comfortable six.

Dilshan: He is the man (preferably) who knows shewag little bit more than the other SriLankan players. Because he played with shewag in Delhi. And he noted that shewag waits to get a single and for hundred. And it is not a waiting for a single and it is definitely for a six. And he is ok of giving shewag a run and make India win as well as give shewag a chance to get his hundred. But none of the SriLankan players would have loved to allow the opponent to keep his passion and style.

Randiv: The disappointed bowler. He was expecting as the match will be finished in the 2^nd ball of the over. But it was not. At least at the third ball it should get finished. But it was also not finished. They defend the balls for no reason. And Randive balls with no intention. Randiv:"How many balls do I need to ball as a fool to finish the match?" He wouldn't like to play a role in India's drama to win that almost finished game. And he wouldn't like to bowl and give a six for shewag to keep his style. So simply it was not their cricket in SriLankan perspective. Bcz they do play till the end for the rules. And the match should had come to the end with the 2^nd ball of the over. So Randive was in a "given-up" state or irritated state.

And at this time Sanga reminds Randive that "bowl carefully he is going to smash it for a big one". And Dilshan the man tells "finish it by bawling a no-ball; else he is going to hit you for another six".

So the match was over. SriLankan had nothing to do with it. Why Randive had to allow shewag to hit a six? If shewag needs a hundred why didn't he politely get a single and get the win and get his hundred in those given chances? Was SriLanka really keen on denying Shewag's century? Why SriLanka a decided to deny shewag?

Answer for all those questions are: Shewag wanted to keep his passion/style rather than get the win with the bonus and get his 13^th hundred. Keep the fielders of an opposition country to bowl more balls for no reason other than for a personnel style is considered as a fair play and genius cricketing move, whereas after giving two (easy) chances to score at least a single and let an opposition team counterpart to finish his hundred and then prevented themselves from getting hit for another six is considered as unfair and decent less cricket and the team compelled to regret for their genius play of cricket!

SriLanka cricket seems not backing SriLanka cricket team properly. It was quiet proved when SLC arrested some SriLankan fans for calling Yuvraj Sing as "water boy" when Yuvraj was carrying the water bottles to the batsmen in the middle. SLC should at least think that what happened when Murali was called as "chucker", "cheater", "Donkey" and so on. How many times Indian players act vulgar when after they took each SriLankan wicket? They would have warned those fans rather than arresting them.

But they arrested them bcz to keep a good relationship with India. Especially, for the sake of those SriLankan players. Bcz they are going to earn a lot of money by the IPL. And that is why they do wanted to shape up India always.l

And her,. Shewag was feebly crying (lol) for that missed century as a silly baby. And Randive, as the elder brother of the baby, was the culprit as well as Dilshan. And since was the father he is not punished (lol).

It is because of Shewag's shame of what he intended. He should feel shame of what he was trying. He should hit the first ball or at least the second ball. In fact he is not talented enough to get that hundred in a situation like that in cricket. Randive should have bowled that 2^nd ball as a no ball. But he gave two chances to shewag. But the greedy shewag was not using those chances given to him. He was trying to keep his stunt on the field and for that he has taught a good lesson. And I believe that he will never do this again. But he really felt shame when he was asked at the post match presentation about that. That's why he was crying after the post match presentation.

And since this greedy shewag is crying out to the world and trying to produce a bad name to SriLanka cricket which has received 2 years of consecutive and overall 3 years of fair play ICC award, Randive accepted the request from the SriLanka cricket to go and please shewag and let him to have his dinner. And the genius Randiv had done it. And as a supporting role Dilshan is named as a fined player.

So now who are the geniuses? The greedy man, who wanted to show his stuns for no reason and failed in the public and cried again in the public? Or the man who stopped a greedy creature from showing his useless stuns to the crowd using the name of cricket and apologized for what he has done for the goodness of the country's cricketing name and to feed the crying baby? Or the man who backed a junior player to get a bad name in name of saving the country's cricket name?

It is up to you to decide….

கல்லூரி காலத்தில நாங்கள் செஞ்ச திருகுதாளங்கள பற்றி ஒரு குறிப்பு எழுத வேணும் எண்டு கன காலமா யோசிச்சிருக்கிறன். ஆனா அது ஒரு குறிப்பில அடங்காது எண்டது மாடுமில்லாம எழுத்து நடையில அதை விபரிக்கிறதும் ஏதோ முடியிற காரியமும் இல்லை எண்டதால இவ்வளவு நாளும் தள்ளி போயிட்டுது. கடைசியா ஒரு முயற்சி. 100% அந்த நினைவுகளை மீட்குதோ இல்லையோ முடிஞ்சவரை முயற்சி செய்யிறன்..

ஆரம்ப பாடசாலையில இருந்து தொடங்கினால் சுவாரஸ்ஸியமா இருக்கும். ஆனா அந்த காலத்தில நான் பால்குடி. அம்பிள பொம்பிள வித்தியாசம் இல்லாம இருந்தகாலம். அந்த கால கதா பாத்திரங்கள் இதை இன்பமான மீட்டலாக கருதிக்கொள்ளுங்கோ.

ஆறாம் ஆண்டில பள்ளிக்கூடம் போனதெல்லாம் எனக்கு ஞாபகம் இல்லை.ஆனா பள்ளிக்குட வாசலில கனக்க குழந்தைகள் அப்பா அம்மாவ விட்டுட்டு வகுப்பில இருக்க மாடோம் எண்டு அடம் பிடிச்சு கொண்டிருக்கேக்க நாங்க 2 பேர் சத்தம் போடாம, அப்பா டாட்டா காட்ட பேசாம காட்டீற்று மற்றவங்கள் அழுகிறத பாத்திட்டு இருந்தமாம் எண்டு ஒரு கதை. அந்த 2 பேரும் யாரா இருக்கும் எண்டு இண்டைக்கு நான் சொல்லத்தேவையில்ல. மிச்சக்கதையில தெரிய வரும்.

3ம் ஆண்டில இடம் பெயர்ந்து பேந்து வந்து திருப்பவும் அங்க ஒண்டு சேந்ததுக்கு பேந்து தான் பல சுவாரசியங்கள் நடந்ததா ஞாபகம்.

ஆண்டு நாலு படிக்கேக்கயே பாதி கொசப்பு வேலைகள் தொடங்கியாச்சு.

நாலாம் ஆண்டில நாங்கள் வேண்டாத அடி இல்லை. சண்டியன் ஜெகாநந்தராஜா B வகுப்பு class teacher.எங்களுக்கு C வகுப்பில 2ம் நிலை சண்டியராக தன்னை பரிணமித்த நாகேஸ்வரன். அது மட்டுமெண்டா பரவாயில்லை. மொணிற்றர் எண்டா அந்த காலத்தில மினிஸ்ர்ர் levelஇல சொல்வாக்கு. எங்களுக்கு வாச்சது கள்ளப்பூனை குணா. நாங்கள் 2 பேர் கிட்டத்தட்ட இரணைப்பிள்ளையள் மாரி. மொணிற்றர் அருளினியனை மாட்டி அவன் அடி வேண்டினா இலவச இணைப்பா அமரேசும் வாங்குவார். இப்பிடித்தான் மறுதலையும். இதில பிஞ்சின முத்தின மாரி அந்த காலத்திலயே Girlfriends..ம் ம்.நிலைமைய பாருங்க. அவளவையோட கதைக்கிறதில இருக்கிற இன்பத்த விட சண்டை பிடிக்கிறதில ஏதோ ஒரு சந்தோசம். அப்பதான் நாங்கள் ஏதாவது இடக்கு முடக்கா அவையையும் மாட்டி விட்டிடுவம்.ஆனா அவளவக்கு ஒருத்தன் கூட அடிக்க மாட்டாங்கள்.கடுப்பில எத்தினையோ தரம் மாட்டியும் பாத்தம் வேலைக்கு ஆகல. அவளவைய மாட்டினா அவை கண்ணக்கட்டி கோபம் போட்டிடுவினம். பேந்து ஒரு term முடிஞ்சு அடுத்த term வரேக்க எல்லாம் மறந்து நேசம் போடுவம். பள்ளிக்கூடம் விட்டாப்பேந்து எங்கள கூப்பிடுறதுக்கு யாராவது வரும் வரையும் நாங்கள் நாலுபேரும் அப்பிடி என்னத்த தான் கதக்கிறனாங்களோ தெரியாது. வகுப்பில அவளவையோட கதக்கிறதும் குணா எங்களை மாட்டிறதும் வழமையான ஒண்டு. நாகேஸ்வரன்ர அடிக்கு பயந்து சிலபேர் வகுப்பறையையே கழிவறையாயும் பாவிச்சிருக்கிறாங்க்கள்.

நாலாம் ஆண்டில கந்தசாமி எண்டவர் தான் அதிபர். அவர் நல்லா சுருட்டு பத்துவார். அவர கண்டாஅ எப்பவுமே ஓழிச்சு ஓடுற நாங்கள் தேடிப்பிடிச்சு அந்தாள் சுருட்டோட நிக்கேக்க குட்மோணிங் சொல்லுவம். அந்தாளும் சுருட்டோட நிக்கிறதால பேசாம விட்டிடும். ஒரு நாள் அந்தாள் பிளான் பண்ணி சுருட்டு பிடிக்கிற மாரி நிண்டு எங்கள பிடிச்சிட்டுது. பேந்தென்ன குண்டி பளுக்க வீட்ட போய் தண்ணி தடவினது தான்.

நல்லூர் திருவிழாவில ஒரு அம்மம்மா குழல் ஒண்டு வாங்கிக் கொண்டுபோய் வகுப்பில ஒரே அரியண்டம் போட்டதில எனக்கு அம்மம்மாகுழல் எண்டு பட்டம் வச்சு இன்னும் சிலது குழல் எண்டுதான் என்னை கூப்பிடுதுகள்.

ஐந்தாம் ஆண்டில சுகிர்தா மிஸ் தான் எங்களுக்கு.எங்களுக்கு இருக்கிற கிளுகிளுப்பு காணாதெண்டு அவா பெடியளும் பெட்டயளும் சோடியா இருக்கவேணும் எண்டு சட்டம் வேற போட்டுட்டா. சோடி பிரிக்கேக்கயும் மனுசி எங்கள் நாலு பேருக்கயும் தான் எங்கள சோடி பிரிச்சது. பேந்தென்ன. எனக்கு பக்கத்தில ஒருத்தி. அவளோட கதச்சா நல்லாத்தான் இருக்கும். ஆனா அவள் பிளேட் மட்டும் தரமாட்டாள்.நானோ ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் புது பெஞ்சில் தான் கொண்டு போவன்.ஏனெண்டா முதல் நாள் பாவிச்சது யாருக்காவது சூனியம் செய்யிற முயற்சீல உடஞ்சுபோம்.புது பெஞ்சில் கொண்டுவந்தா அது தீட்டி இருக்கது.பிளேடும் இருக்காது.பக்கத்தில இருக்கிறவள் அது மாடும் தர மாட்டாள்.ஏனெண்டு கேட்டா பிளேட் மொட்டையா போடும் எண்டுவாள். அருளினியன் தான் மொணிற்றர் வேற. அவனுக்கு ராணிகாமிக்ஸ் குடுத்தா குழலூதின பாம்பு மாரி இருந்திடுவான். நான் குளிர் காயுறது. பக்கத்தில வேற நல்ல அலட்டல் சோடி. தனக்கு வந்த சோடி சரியில்லை எண்ட கடுப்போ என்னவோ அங்க ஒருத்தன் சாமியார் மாரி தான் வகுப்புக்கு வருவான் அவன் தன்ர அப்பரோட வந்து இதென்ன சோடியா விடுறது.பாலியல் துஸ்பிரயோகம், கலாச்சார சீரழிவு எண்டு அறிக்கை விட்டு கள்ளச்சாமி எண்டு செல்லமா அழைக்கப்பட்ட நவராஜகுமரனை வகுப்பு மாத்தியாச்சு.

எங்கள் கல்லூரி ஆலய பிரதம குருக்கள் ஸ்ரீலஸ்ரீ.கா.சதானந்த சர்மா அவர்களின் உணர்வு பூர்வமான அபிஷேக ஆராதனைகள் அனைவரையும் பக்தி பரவசத்தில் ஆழ்த்தத்தான் செய்த்தது. கல்லூரி இசை ஆசிரியர் திரு.கே,பத்மநாதன் அவர்களின் வழிநடத்தலில் வளர்ந்துகொண்டிருக்கும் அடுத்த இந்துவுன் இசை வாரிசுகள் பஞ்சபுராணம் பாடியது மேலும் உணர்ச்சியூட்டியது. நுணுக்கங்கள் நிறைந்த அந்த பஞ்சபுராண பாராயணம் தருணத்திற்கு பொருத்தமான இசை நுட்பங்களை தாங்கி வந்தமை, பத்மநாதன் ஆசிரியர் அவர்கள் எனக்கு சொல்லித்தந்த இசை நுணுக்கங்களை மீட்கச் செய்தது. இப்படி எத்துணை மைந்தர்களின் மனதில் நினைவு மீட்சி நடந்திருக்கும்…....

தொடர்ந்து பாண்ட் வாத்திய குழுவினர் அதிதியரை கல்லூரியிலே அமைக்கப்பெற்றுள்ள நாவலர் சிலையருகே அழத்துவர பிரதம அதிதி கல்லூரி நாவலர் சிலைக்கு மலர்மாலை அணிவித்து வணங்கினார். தொடர்ந்து பாண்ட் வாத்திய குழுவினர் விருந்தினர்களை குமாரசுவாமி மண்டபத்திற்கு அழைத்து செல்ல, குமாரசுவாமி மண்டப முன்றலில் கல்லூரி சாரணர் படைப்பிரிவு மற்றும் சென்.ஜோன்ஸ் அம்புலன்ஸ் படைப்பிரிவு மாணவர்களின் அணிவகுப்பு மரியாதையுடன் விருந்தினர்கள் மண்டபத்தை வந்தடைந்தனர்.

மண்டபத்திலே யாழ்மண்ணின் புகழ் பூத்த மங்கள வாத்திய கலைஞர்கள் மங்கல இசை வழங்கியவண்ணம் இருக்க, விருந்தினர்கள் மண்டபத்தினுள்ளே நுழைந்து மங்கல விழக்கேற்றும் நிகழ்வை ஆரம்பித்தனர்.

தொடர்ந்து கல்லூரி மாணவர்களின் தேவார பாராயணமும், மாண்ட இந்துவின் மைந்தர்களுக்காய் 2 நிமிட மௌன அஞ்சலியும் இடம்பெற்றது.

அடுத்தநிகழ்வாக வந்தோரை வரவேற்கும் வரவேற்புரையை பழையமாணவர் சங்கம்-கொழும்புக்கிளையின் உப தலைவர் திரு.ப.பரமேஸ்வரன் நிகழ்த்தினார். மிக நீளமான ஒரு வரவேற்புரையிலே நேர்த்தியாக பல விடயங்களை தொட்டு சென்றார். பழையமாணவர் சங்கங்களின் ஒற்றுமையின் முக்கியத்துவம் பற்றி குறிப்பிட்ட அவர் தாய்ச்சங்கமான யாழ்ப்பாணக்கிளையின் முக்கிய பங்குபற்றியும் விளக்கி தனது வரவேற்புரையினை நிறைவு செய்தார்.

தொடர்ந்து நல்லை ஆதீன முதல்வர் விழா சிறப்புற தனது ஆசிகளை வழங்கி ஆசியுரையினை நிகழ்த்தினார். அவர் தனது ஆசி உரையிலே ஆதீனத்திற்கும் யாழ்ப்பாணம் இந்துக்கல்லூரிக்கும் இடையே இருக்கும் நெருங்கிய உறவினைப்பற்றியும் குறிப்பிட்டிருந்தார்.

தொடர்ந்து விழாத்தலைவர் திரு.செ.இராகவன் தனது தலைமை உரையினை நிகழ்த்தினார். தலைமை உரையிலே கொழும்புச்சங்கத்தின் வளர்ச்சிப்படிகளையும் அது கல்லூரிக்கு செய்துவரும் முக்கிய பங்களிப்புகளையும் பற்றிய ஒரு விளக்கத்தினை தந்திருந்தார். மேலும் நூற்றாண்டு விழாவின் சிறப்புகள் அனைத்தையும் இலக்கண சுருக்கமாக விளக்கியிருந்தார்.

அடுத்ததாக கல்லூரியின் முதல்வர் உரை நிகழ்த்தினார். ஒரு தாய் சார்பாக தனது பிளைகளிடம் என்ன வகையில் பேச வேண்டுமோ அந்த வகையிலே கல்லூரி முதல்வரின் உரை அமைந்திருந்தது. உலகெங்கிலும் தாயின் மகிமை பாடும் மைந்தர்களை சுட்டிக்காட்ட்த்தவறவில்லை. மேலும் கல்லூரியின் தற்கால சாதனைகளையும் அதற்கான பழையமாணவர் சங்கத்தினர் செய்துவரும் பங்களிப்பினையும் குறிப்பிட்ட்துடன், தொடர்ந்தும் இவ்வாறான பங்களிப்புகள் அவசியம் என்பதனையும் குறிப்பிட்டார். நூறாண்டு அகவை காணும் கொழும்பு பழையமாணவ்ர் சங்கத்தினை வாழ்த்தவும் தவறவில்லை.

தொடர்ந்து விழாவின் பிரதம அதிதி உரை நிகழத்தினார்.அவர் தன் உரையிலே விழாவிற்கு தன்னை பிரதம அதிதியாக அழைத்தமைக்காக கொழும்பு பழையமாணவர் சங்கத்திற்கு நன்றி தெரிவித்ததோடு சங்கத்தின் நூறாவது பிறந்த நாளில் சங்கத்தை வாழத்தவும் தவறவில்லை. கல்லூரியின் வளர்ச்சியில் பழையமாணவர் சங்கங்களின் பங்களிப்பை மெச்சியதோடு அச் சேவைகளை தொடர்ந்த்து வழங்க வேண்டும் எனவும் கேட்டுக்கொண்டார். தொடர்ந்து தனது கல்லூரிக்கால நினைவுகளையும் மீட்டு, ஆங்கிலத்திலே தனது உரையை நிறவு செய்தார்.

தொடர்ந்து கல்லூரியின் முன்னாள் ஆசிரியரும், பழையமாணவனுமாகிய ஆசிரியர் திரு.சிவசுப்பிரமணியம் அவர்களின் “My educational Memories” நூல் விளியீடு நிகழ்ந்தது.நூலின் நீண்ட ஆய்வுரையை தொடர்ந்து எழுத்தாளர் ஏற்புரையை இலக்கணச்சுருக்கமாக நிறைவு செய்தார் நூலாசிரியர்.

தொடர்ந்து இந்துவின் புகழ்பூத்த மைந்தர்கள் கவியரங்கம் நிகழ்த்தினார்கள். இந்துவின் மைந்தனும் கோண்டாவில் இந்துமகா வித்தியாலய ஆசிரியருமான பிரபல கவியரங்க வித்துவான் திருவாளர் சிவசிதம்பரம் அவர்களின் தலைமையில் “கற்க கசடற கற்க” எனும் கல்லூரி மகுடவாசகத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியை பொருளாக வைத்து இந்துவின் மைந்தர்களான காரைநகர் உதவி அரசாங்க அதிபர் திரு.ஜெயசீலன், யாழ்ப்பாணம் போதனா வைத்தியசாலை வைத்தியர் திரு.குருபரன், யாழ்ப்பாணம் போதனா வைத்தியசாலை வைத்தியர் திரு,பதந்தன், யாழ்ப்பாணம் மருத்துவபீட 4ம் வருட மாணவன் திரு.தர்ஷனன் ஆகியோர் பங்குபற்றி கவிமழை பொழிந்தனர்.

தொடர்ந்து யாழ்ப்பாணம் இந்துக்கலூரி பழையமாணவர் சங்கம்-கொழும்புக்கிளை தமது நூறாவது ஆண்டு நிறைவையொட்டி பாடசாலை மாணவர்களுக்கிடையே நடாத்திய பேச்சு போட்டியில் கீழ்ப்பிரிவில் முதிலிடம் பெற்ற செல்வன்.சி.ஜனுபன் தனது மழலைக்குரலிலான பேச்சினை வழங்கினார்.

தொடர்ந்து இந்துக்கல்லூரி மண்டபத்தில் பாடசாலை சமுகத்தின் எந்த விழாவானாலும் சரி இசை நிகழ்ச்சி இல்லாமல் இருக்காது. அந்தவகையிலே கல்லூரியின் இசை ஆசிரியர்களின் வழிநடத்தலிலே கல்லூரி மாணவர்கள் பங்குபற்றிய ”இசை அமுதம்” நிகழ்வு அனைவரது காதுகளிலும் தேன் வார்த்தது. கல்லூரி மாணவர்கள் வாய்ப்பாட்டு பாட, கல்லூரி இசை ஆசிரியர் திரு.கே.பத்மநாதன் அவர்களின் வயலின் இசையுடன் கல்லூரி மாணவன் செல்வன் டினேசனின் ம்ருதங்கத்துடன் இனிதாக ஆரம்பித்தது இசை அமுதம். அதன் இரண்டாம் பகுதியிலே கல்லூரி மாணவன் செல்வன்.மதீசன் தனது திறமையை மேற்கத்தேய முறையிலே ஆடலுடன் கூடிய ROCK STYLE பாடல் ஒன்றை பாடி கண்களுக்கும் காதுகளுக்கும் விருந்தளித்தார். இசை அமுத்த்தின் மூன்றாம் பகுதியிலே குழுப்பாட்டாக பாரதியார் பாடல் ஒன்றும் பாரதி தாசன் பாடல் ஒன்றும் பாடி நிறைவு செய்தார்கள்.

அடுத்த நிகழ்வாக யாழ்பாணம் இந்துக்கல்லூரி மற்றும் சகோதர பாடசாலையான யாப்பாணம் இந்து மகளிர் பாடசாலைகளைச் சேர்ந்த உயர்தர விஞ்ஞானப்பிரிவு மாணவர்கள் பங்குபற்றிய ”விஞ்ஞான வினாடி வினா” போட்டி ஒன்று நடாத்தப்பட்டது. இந்துவின் மைந்தர்களான கொழும்பு மருத்துவபீட இரண்டாம் வருட மாணவன் திரு.செ.கோகுலனின் வினாத்தொகுப்பிலே திரு.சோ.குணாகரனின் ஒழுங்கமைப்பில் திரு.க.சிவகணேசனின் மத்தியஸ்தம் செய்ய நடைபெற்ற அந்த அறிவுப்போட்டியில் யாழ்ப்பாணம் இந்த்துக்கலூரி மாணவர்கள் வெற்றிபெற்றார்கள். போட்டியில் பங்குபற்றிய மாணவர்களிக்கு பணப்பரிசில்லகளை விழாத்தலைவர் வழங்கி கௌரவித்தார்

தொடர்ந்து கல்லூரி மாணவர்களின் படைப்பான “பாரதத்தில் கர்ணன்” நாடகம் மேடையேறியது. இந்துக்கலூரியின் கலையாசிரியர்களின் அருமையான படைப்பு என்றால் அது மிகையாகாத வண்ணம் அந்த நாடகம் அனைவரது மனதையும் தொட்டிருந்தது. மேற்படி நாடகம் தமிழ்த்தினப் போட்டிகளில் கோட்டமட்டம் மற்றும் வலயமட்டங்களில் முதலிடம் பெற்றிருந்தமையும் குறிப்பிடப்பட வேண்டியது. ஆசிரியர் திரு.விமலநாதன் அவர்களின் அருமையான குரல் வளத்தினால் கர்ணனின் முடிவு பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்த அனைவரினதும் கண்களில் கண்ணீர் மல்க வைத்தது மட்டுமன்றி அந்த காவியத்தலைவனை நினைவு கூரவும் ஒரு சந்தர்ப்பமாக அமைத்தது. அருமையான அந்த கலை படைப்பை நெறியாள்கை செய்த ஆசிரியர்களை இவ்விடத்திலே பாராட்டுக்களை தெரிவித்தாக வேண்டும். மேலும் அவர்களின் இத்தகைய சேவைகள் தொடர்ந்தும் எமது கல்லூரி அன்னைக்கு கிடைக்க வேண்டும் எனவும் கேட்டுக்கொள்ளப்பட்டனர்.

தொடர்ந்து மதிய போசனத்திற்காய் விழா இடைந்றுத்தப்பட்டது.

கல்லூரியின் போசன மண்டபத்திலே இலக்கிய பசி தீர்த்து வந்திருந்த விருந்தினர்களின் வயிற்றுப்பசியும் சிறப்பாக தீர்த்துவைக்கப்பட்டது. கல்லூரி ஆசிரிய்ர்கள் மற்றும் சேவைக்கழக மாணவர்கள் உற்சாகத்துடனும் இன்முகத்துடனும் உரிமையோடு ஒரு தாய் பிள்ளைகள் என்ற உணர்வோடு உணவு பரிமாறியதை அங்கிருந்த அனைவரும் அனுபவித்திருந்தனர்.

சுவையான மதிய உண்வினைத்தொடர்ந்து கல்லூரியில் புதிதாக நிர்மாணிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள கட்டிடத்தொகுதியின் 2ம் மாடியிலே அமையப்பெற்றிருந்த கணனிக் கூடத்தினை வழாத்தலைவர் திரு.செ.இராகவன் அவர்கள் திரந்து வைத்தார். கொழும்புப் பழையாமாணவர் சங்கத்தினரால் அன்பளிப்பு செய்யப்பட்ட 22 நவீன கணணிகள் கொண்ட அந்த கணனிக்கூடம் அழகான முறையில் வடிவமைக்கப்பெற்றிருந்த்து.

தொடர்ந்து கல்லூரியின் பாண்ட் வாத்திய குழுவினர் மாலைநேர விருந்தினர்களை அழைத்துவர குமாரசுவாமி மண்டப முன்றலில் கல்லூரி சாரணர் படைப்பிரிவு மற்றும் சென்.ஜோன்ஸ் அம்புலன்ஸ் படைப்பிரிவு மாணவர்களின் அணிவகுப்பு மரியாதையுடன் விருந்தினர்கள் மண்டபத்தை வந்தடைந்தனர்.

தொடர்ந்து மாலை நேர பிரதம அதிதியாக கலந்து கொண்ட திருவாளர்.இராசநாயகம் அவர்களின் உரையுடன் மாலைநேர நிகழ்வுகள் ஆரம்பமாகியது. இலக்கணச்சுருக்கமாக நூற்றாண்டு காணும் கல்லூரியின் குழந்தைக்கு வாழ்த்து சொல்லி நிறைவு செய்தார்.

தொடர்ந்து நூற்றாவது பிறந்தநாளை கொண்டாடி வரும் சகோதரனை வாழ்த்துவதற்காய் வந்திருந்த லண்டன் பழையமாணவர் சங்கத்தின் தலைவர் திரு செவ்வேள் அவர்கள் வாழ்த்துரை நிகழ்த்தினார். அவர் தனது உரையில் இந்து அன்னையின் மைந்தர்கள் வெவ்வேறு பின்ணணிகளில் இருந்தாலும் அவையனைத்தையும் களைந்துவிட்டு அன்னையின் குழந்தைகளாய் ஒன்று திரண்டு அன்னைக்கு மகுடம் சூட்ட வேண்டும் என்று குறிப்பிட்டார்.


அதனை தொடர்ந்து கல்லூரி அதிபர் கல்லூரி சார்பான தேவைகளை முன்வைப்பதற்காக ஒரு சிறு வேண்டுதல் உரையினை நிகழ்த்தினார். அவர் கல்லூரியின் தற்போதைய தேவைகளை முன்வைத்து  தனது உரையை நிறைவு செய்தார்.

தொடர்ந்து ஜேர்மன் நாட்டின் பழைய மாணவர் சங்க தலைவர் திரு.R.C.இராமநாதன் அவர்களும் அவரை தொடர்ந்து லண்டன் பழையமாணவர் சங்கத்தின் முன்னாள் தலைவர் திரு.கேதீஸ்வரன் அவர்களும் தமது சகோதர சங்கத்திற்கு வாழ்த்து தெரிவித்து உரை நிகழ்த்தினர்.

தொடர்ந்து நிதிய அங்குரார்ப்பன நிகழ்வுகள் ஆரம்பமாகியது. முதலாவதாக: அமரர்.செ.குணரட்ணம் அவர்களின் நினைவுரையினை திரு.கு.அமரேஷ் அவர்கள் நிகழ்த்த ஞாபகார்த்த நிதியம் அமரர்.குணரட்ணம் அவர்களின் பாரியாரினால் அங்குரார்ப்பணம் செய்து வைக்கப்பட்டது.

இரண்டாவது கட்டமாக: அமரர்.கலாநிதி.சோமசுந்தரம் அவர்களின் நினைவுரையினை வைத்தியர் திரு.சிவபாதசுந்தரம் அவர்கள் நிகழ்த்த திரு.செ.இராகவன் அவர்களினால் அங்குரார்ப்பணம் செய்துவைக்கப்பட்டது.

அங்குரார்ப்பண நிகழ்வின் மூன்றாவது கட்டமாக: அமரர் பேராசிரியர் இரவீந்திரநாத் அவர்களின் நினைவுரையினை திரு.ப.பரமேஸ்வரன் நிகழ்த்த திரு.செ.இராகவன் அவர்களினால் அங்குரார்ப்பணம் செய்துவைக்கப்பட்டது.

தொடர்ந்து யாழ்ப்பாணம் இந்துக்கலூரி பழையமாணவர் சங்கம் கொழும்புக்கிளையின் நூற்றாண்டு விழாவை முன்னிட்டு கல்லூரி மாணவரிடையே நடாத்தப்பட்ட பேச்சுப்போட்டியில் மத்திய பிரிவில் முதலிடம் பெற்ற மாணவன் செல்வன்.ஆ.ஹரிஷங்கர் தனது பேச்சினை வழங்கினார்.

அதனை தொடர்ந்து நூற்றாண்டினை முன்னிட்டு கல்லூரி மாணவர் மட்ட்த்திலே நடாத்தப்பட்ட கட்டுரை மற்றும் பேச்சு போட்டிகளில் வெற்றியீட்டிய மாணவர்களுக்கு பரிசளிக்கும் வைபவம் இடம்பெற்றது. கலூரியின் உப அதிபர் திரு.பொ.ஞானதேசிகனின் ஒமுங்கமைப்பில்பரிசளிப்பு நிகழ்வு நடந்து நிறைவேறியது.

தொடர்ந்து கல்லூரி மாணவர்களின் மற்றொரு சிறப்புப் படைப்பான “ஈழவன் குறவஞ்சி” நாட்டார் நடனம் மேடையேறியது. யாழ்ப்பானம் இந்துக்கல்லூரியிலும் மாணவியர் கல்வி கற்கின்றனரா என வியப்பூட்டும் வகையில் பெண் கலைஞர்களாக வேடம் சூடப்பட்ட மாணவர்கலள் மிகவும் அற்புதமாக நடனம் ஆடியது அனைவரையும் இன்ப அதிர்ச்சியில் ஆழ்த்தியது. ஆசிரியர்கள் திரு.விமலநாதன், திரு.சிவதாஸன்,ஆகியோரின் நெறியாள்கையாலும் மற்றும் குரல் வண்ணத்தினாலும் சிறப்பு பொலிவு பெற்றிருந்தது என்றால் மிகையாகாது.

தொடர்ந்து பேச்சு போட்டியில் மேற்பிரிவில் முதலிடம் பெற்ற செல்வன்.மே.உமாகரனின் பேச்சு இடம்பெற்றது. .கல்லூரி மாணவனாக இருந்து தனது மூத்தோரின் கல்லுரி மீதான சேவைகளையும் கல்லூரியின் வரலாற்றையும் தொகுத்து மிக அருமையான ஒரு உணர்வுபூர்வமான பேச்சினை நிகழ்த்தியிருந்தார்.

தொடர்ந்து யாழ்ப்பாணம் இந்துக்கல்லூரியின் புகழ்பூத்த மைந்தர்கள் பங்குபற்றிய விவாதம் ஆரம்பமாகியது. ”இலங்கையின் இன்றைய பாடசாலைக்கல்விமுறை இன்றைய இளைஞர்களின் தேவைகளை பூர்த்தி செய்ய போதுமானது” என்ற தலைப்பிலே இந்துவின் மைந்தன் பேராசிரியர்.சிவத்தம்பி அவர்கள் நடுவராக இருக்க, இந்துவின் மைந்தர்களான யாழ்ப்பாணம் பல்கலைக்கழக சட்டத்துறை விரிவுரையாளர் திரு.கு.குருபரன் தலைமையின் கீழே தகவல் தொழில்நுட்ப 3ம் வருட மாணவன் திரு.ஜனகன் மற்றும் வட மாகாணத்தில் முதலிடம் பெற்று தேசியமட்டத்திற்கு தெரிவாகி பயிற்சி பெற்றுவரும் கல்லூரி விவாத அணியின் தலவர் செல்வன்.உமாகரன் ஆகியோர் தலைப்பை ஒத்துப்பேச, யாழ்ப்பாணம் பல்கலைக்கழக இரசாயணவியல் திறையை சேர்ந்த திரு.இ.சர்வேஸ்வரா தலைமையின் கீழே யாழ்ப்பாணம் போதனா வைத்திய சாலை வைத்தியர் திரு.பா.பாலகோபி மற்றும் திரு.கு.அமரேஷ் ஆகியோர் தலைப்பை மறுத்தும் விவாதித்தனர்.

பல ஆக்கபூர்வமான கருத்துக்கள் வெளிவந்ததோடு நகைச்சுவையாகவும் காரசாரமாகவும் நடந்த விவாத அரங்கிலே ”இலங்கையின் இன்றைய பாடசாலை கல்விமுறை இளைஞர்களின் தேவைகளை பூர்த்தி செய்ய போதுமானதல்ல” எண்று வாதிட்ட திரு.சர்வேஸ்வரா தலைமையிலான அணியே வெற்றி பெற்றதாக நடுவர் அறிவிக்க கரகோசத்துடன் நிகழ்வு முடிவிற்கு வந்தது.

தொடர்ந்து கல்லூரி பழையமாணவர்களுடன் இணைந்து யாழ்குடாநாட்டின் பிரபல கலைஞர்கள் பங்குபற்றிய இசை நிகழ்வு இடம்பெற்றது. கல்லூரி அன்னை மீது பாடப்பெற்றிருந்த பல இனிமையான மெருதுவான பாடல்களுடன் ஆரம்பமான அந்த இசை நிகழ்வு இறுதியில் விறுவிறுப்பான  பாடல்களுடன் நிறைவுக்கு வந்தது. கல்லூரி பழையமாணவர்களான திரு.க.தர்ஷனன், திரு.க.கவாஸ்கர், திரு.ஜெ.ஜெயடினேஸ் ஆகியோரின் இனிமையான் குரல் சுவையான ஒரு நிறைவை ஏற்படுத்தியது.

இறுதியாக திரு.கு.அமரேஷின் நன்றியுரையுடன் நிகழ்வு இனிதே முடிவை தொட்டது. நன்றியுரையிலே நிகழ்வில் சிறப்பு நிகழ்ச்சிகளாக மனதில் இடம்பிடித்த “பாரத்த்தில் கர்ண்ண்” மற்றும் “ஈழவன் குறவஞ்சி” நிகழ்ச்சி கலைஞர்களின் படைப்பு பாராட்டப்பட்டதுடன் அவர்களின் கலை சேவை கல்லூரிக்கு தொடர்ந்தும் தேவை என்பதும் குறிப்பிடபிட்டு காட்டப்பட்டது.

இறுதியாக கல்லூரி கீதத்துடன் யாழ்ப்பாணம் இந்துக்கல்லூரியின் பழைய மாணவர் சங்கம் கொழும்புக்கிழையின் நூற்றாண்டு விழா சிறப்பாக விமரிசையாக நடந்து முடிவுக்கு வந்த்து.

“எவ்விடமேகினும் எத்துயர் நேரினும் எம்மண்னை நின்நலம் மறவோம்”.

IIFA 2010-Srilanka

International Indian Film Awards 2010 held in SriLanka, Colombo had been ignored by some of the Indian cinema stars and stakeholders due to the heavy pressure from the Tamil people from all over the world except the Tamils in SriLanka. This Tamil society had asked those film stars to boycott the function and they were warning these stars that if they don't boycott, they will not be earning from cinema. It can be seen as a counterattack from the film stars perspective. The film stars heavily depend on the audience. So if they act against the audience they will lose their fame rather than their life. So simply they feel for their fame rather than worrying about a reward for their hard work and all. Anyway it is up to them to receive and ignore their awards. Though the film stars were been driven by a heavy pressure, some of the film stars did attend to this awarding. According to the news I received, Sharuk, Amithab and his family has missed their awards



Apart from this, what was the real scenario behind the call for a boycott of this IIFA? Who has benefitted? And who else has been debited by this boycott? Still I couldn't find a reasonable answer for all these questions. According to the newspapers and TV news, the Tamil speaking people from all over the world has called for a boycott. And the reason they have put forwards is, not to support Rajapakshe government for any reason because they have killed so many Tamil people in Wanni during the war period.

 It is obvious that there were too many Tamils killed in the war and we all know that story and I don't want to repeat that. But by not giving your support to a government, what are we going to achieve? Simply, You again announce that we are not yet totally killed, we still remains, so please kill even more and try weather you can totally eliminate.

Whereas the TNA- considered as one of the frontline Tamil representing political party- is preparing for a negotiation with the Rajapakshe Government to safe guard the Tamils. I can't still find any intelligent or a political movement by these activities. The Tamil newspapers and TV news are announcing that Rajapakshe Government has faced a serious blow at the IIFA even because of the voice of Tamils. On the very next day the TNA is going for meeting with an open mind saying as they are seeking a solution for Tamils in SriLanka. What is this all indicates?


On the other hand, what is the absolute problem caused to this Rajapakshe government by this boycott? There were lots of expectations from this event like a small piece of income, a big advertisement for SriLanka and a good civil relationship between SriLanka and India. And what this boycott gave is, rather than a small income it gave lose to the government, and it was and still it is been a massive advertisement for SriLanka and that a typical celebration wouldn't have done it. Because all the newspapers and TV channels are talking about this IIFA and announcing that since that the Tamil speaking people had called for a boycott the IIFA, it has been missed by some of the cinema stars from India. The Tamil speaking people had called for a boycott because they wanted to stand against for Rajapakshe Government.

Whereas Tamil political representatives in SriLanka, is trying to keep negotiations with Rajapakshe Government. So, how the world going to see these sequence of event is the think that we have to worry for.


On the other hand there is no political problem between Rajapakshe and India. Simply the Tamils and the people who are under control of Tamils in foreign countries are not allowed to move with the Government in SriLanka.


More over the lost that the SriLankan Government has faced is not the Rajapakshe's money. It is the money of the SriLankan government. So now how the government is going to earn that fund is the other question? As usual the people in the country are the resource that a government has forever. So we, the SriLankan Living people, that include the Tamil for whom all these Tamils around the worlds are fighting for, is going share the lost fund.



And SriLanka is going to hold another great event that is going to play a massive influence to the government to overcome all these bad names. The World Cup Cricket 2011. It is going to be held in India, SriLanka and Bangladesh. So that is going to be a greatest event compared to this IIFA. So after 2011 this Boycott is going to be nothing other than a missed event by the Indian film stars.

I am adding these details on a later date when after i received some more tips about the IIFA-2010 via newspapers.

The IIFA 2010 award ceremony has been a successful event in many ways. In spite of these call for a boycott, 97% of the confirmed participants were attended to this awarding ceremony. And this 97% includes more than 100 artists and this year is a record year in IIFA history as it met the highest number of participants (Highest number of artists had participated in IIFA-2010).

Apart from this, earlier, SriLanka had accepted this project in a critical situation where IIFA committee was seeking a country to assist to host their awarding in a very short time. And all the other expected countries had said "no" to IIFA and only SriLanka had took the challenge to host this event. Canada,which is going to host the IIFA-2011,  are having more than one year time period to prepare the arrangements where as SriLanka had only two months time. So what they had done in this two months is really at the best.

Another great blow to this Tamil community who had call for a boycott to this event is, the fund raised from this IIFA-2010 is announced to be utilized only for the goodwill of the wanni Tamils whose name was used as a weapon to call the boycott. The fund raised from the ceremony tickets are allocated to the IDP's resettlement and the fund raised from the show-cricket match is allocated to rehabilitate the child soldiers in SriLanka. Apart from this one of the film star who attended to this event had visited to the war-affected area and he confirmed that he will be helping building a school for these affected children.

So what all these moves indicate is, if this event had backed by Tamil society, instead of this boycott,  they would have benefited even more. If more Tamil and other south Indian film stars would came SriLanka, they would have taken even more projects to help the wanni Tamil people at least to save their proud and fame.
